WBcalc | Cessna calculators | Aircraft calculators
This calculator uses loading stations and center of gravity limits for the 1977 Cessna Model 150M. Enter the current empty weight and empty arm from the weight and balance record for the individual aircraft.
Maximum takeoff weight: 1,600 lbs. Standard usable fuel: 22.5 US gal. Long range tanks: 35 US gal usable.
The maximum takeoff weight used by this calculator is 1,600 lbs. The aft CG limit is 37.5 inches aft of datum. The forward limit changes with aircraft weight.
| Aircraft weight | Forward CG limit | Aft CG limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1,280 lbs or less | 31.5 in | 37.5 in |
| 1,600 lbs | 32.9 in | 37.5 in |
Between 1,280 and 1,600 lbs, the forward limit runs from 31.5 to 32.9 inches. The calculator uses linear interpolation between those points.
Standard tanks provide 22.5 US gallons of usable fuel. At 6 lbs per gallon, full standard fuel weighs 135 lbs.
The long range tank installation provides 35 US gallons usable. At 6 lbs per gallon, 35 gallons weighs 210 lbs.
Using the published 1,111 lb standard empty weight for the Commuter configuration, the difference to the 1,600 lb maximum takeoff weight is 489 lbs.
With 22.5 gallons of usable fuel aboard, fuel weight is 135 lbs. That leaves 354 lbs before reaching maximum takeoff weight. The actual useful load depends on the current empty weight of the individual aircraft.
Baggage area 1 uses an arm of 64.0 inches. Baggage area 2 uses an arm of 84.0 inches.
Baggage area 2 is limited to 40 lbs. The combined load in baggage areas 1 and 2 must not exceed 120 lbs.
The published standard empty weight is not the empty weight of an individual aircraft. Use the current figures from the aircraft weight and balance record.
Radios, paint, repairs, interior work and other installed equipment can change both empty weight and empty arm.
The published standard empty weight for the Commuter configuration is 1,111 lbs. The published standard empty weight for the Commuter II is 1,129 lbs.
These are reference values only. Use the current aircraft data in the calculator.
The reference datum used for the loading data on this page is the front face of the firewall. Arms are measured aft of that datum.
The loading stations, maximum weight and center of gravity limits used on this page are based on the 1977 Cessna Model 150M Pilot's Operating Handbook, primarily Sections 2 and 6.
Earlier Cessna 150 models can have different loading data, equipment and operating limits. Use documentation applicable to the exact aircraft model and serial number.
WBcalc is a planning aid. Check the current POH, aircraft weight and balance record, equipment list and applicable supplements before flight.
